A 64 Bit and 32 bit Might Be a Better Choice:-

64 bit vs 32 bit

You must have heard about 64 bit and 32 bit version of operating system. This article will help you to distinguish between 64 bit and 32 bit which will help you as a consumer to take the right as per your choice. For those of you that installed a 32-bit version of Windows, you have my condolences. Otherwise, you really made the right choice based on a number of reasons. We are providing for  installing 64 bit operating system than 32 bit. But most of us really have no full understanding of what difference is actually. In this context we will take all important points take will help  you to take the right  one.

We will look at your computer system as three parts:, the operating system, the hardware and the application programs.

First let’s check which version of windows operating system you are running in your system:-

  1. Just go Control Panel.
  2. Check out system properties.

64 bit Vs 32 bit

 It Still Runs 32-Bit Applications

Windows-7 with 64 bit processor can easily run 32-bit processor for those who know how processor registries work, this would be like worrying whether you can put the same quantity of bananas in your new mixer grinder with a 1 ltrs capacity as you did with the older one that had a 1/2 ltrs capacity.

Processors work much like onions, with several layers of registers. Two 16-bit layers compose a 32-bit layer, and one 32-bit layer always sits within a 64-bit layer. That allows for total reverse compatibility. I still almost exclusively run Win32 applications, although I run a 64-bit version of Windows 7.

The OS Recognizes More RAM

Windows 32 bit means 232=4,294,967,296 memory i.e  it is limited to 4 Gigabytes(Gb) Ram.

Windows x86 users often complain that they don’t even see all 4 GB of memory when they have that much RAM installed.Windows x64  bit version is able to detect as much ram as you have installed in your system. In fact, x64 supports up to 192 GB of RAM!

Lower Response Time

Windows 64 bit will have a better response time as as it has more Ram than 32 bit Windows-7.All the programs will smoothly run 64-bit Windows with higher response time.Windows with x64 bit windows has a less crashing problem comparatively.

A Misconception about 64-bit operating system:-

A common misconception about 64-bit windows is the amount of RAM that is actually used but some people seem to think it will use double the RAM while others incorrectly assume a 64-bit system will be twice as fast as 32 bit. While its true that 64 bit processor will take a little extra memory.Imagine you as bank locker keeper ,if some customer asked to keep some thing in the locker you gave him  a big vessel to put down the thing, having a big vessel doesnot mean that the bank size will increase by double  it make a  little difference.

32 BIT vs 64 BIT OPERATING SYSTEM HARDWARE:-

As the number of bits increases there are two important benefits.

  • More bits means that data can be processed in larger chunks which also means more accurately.
  • More bits means our system can point to or address a larger number of locations in physical memory.

32-bit systems were once desired because they could address (point to) 4 Gigabytes (GB) of memory in one go. Some modern software or high graphic games require more than 4 GB of memory to complete their tasks so 64-bit systems are now becoming more attractive because they can potentially address up to 4 billion times that many locations. One 32 bit system ,each process is given 4 Gb of virtual memory to play with which is separated into 2gb space that the application can usaully use at a time.

SOME MORE CORNS WITH 32 BIT:-

In a 32-bit computer, the width (or size) of the data buss is 32-bits wide. A 64-bit buss is twice as wide so the system can move twice as much data around. Being able to process more data means a faster system.Normal office productivity and web surfing will show no advantages at all, whereas graphics processing and scientific calculations will go much faster. Not only 32 bit have a memory limit ,there is one more important problem, your devices like video card and mother board bios take up room in the same 4GB space ,which means the operating system get acess even less memoryof RAM.

Some expert  found out a desktop running 32 bit windows with 4GB RAM and two 1 GB graphics card has arround 2.3 GB of RAM for operating system. So bigger you move lesser is the space for your oprating system.

64 BIT OPERATING SYSTEM:-

264 =18446744073709551616 memory ie:- it is capable of more than 100 Gigabytes (GB) actually it is around 192 Gb.

So if 64 bit won’t be stealing  usable memory space from the operating system. The window 64 bit Home editions are still limit to 16 Gb of RAM for licensing purpose ,professional and ultimate can use upto 192 Gb of RAM. The pre process limit is also greatly increased on 64 bit windows, instead of 2GB limit, each application has access to 8 TB of virtual memory without any special API.

One more advantage that 64 bit vs 32 bit OS can easily work on 64 bit processor. There are some exception to the rule ,however 32 bit drivers and low-level system applications like and some antivirus, shell extension that play into windows and some media applications simply won’t work without a 64 -bit equivalent.

VALUABLE POINT:-

If you odering a new PC or a laptop with 4 GB or more RAM ,you should probably go for 64 bit processor because it help you to add extra video card and other devices with less problems. A person who doesnot care obout category will find 64 bit more beneficial than 32 bit because he can use 32 bit os in 64 bit easily and even if we compare 64 bit is faster than 32 bit and perform more upgraded silicon processor and have more no. of transistor which provide it more advantageous  than 32 bit.
